National Parks

Above you will see the image of a national park. Can you tell us what it is? Answer posted next week.

Why?

Here are some things to wonder about, and we will be posting opinions on them soon:
  • Why search for another planet when we can save this one?
  • Why is recycle pickup only once a week, while trash pickup is twice a week?
  • Why are we treating nature as a backdrop, instead of something we interact with?

Beginning of school, tons of supplies gone to waste.

Hello again, this is Sam Rothen, cowriter of this blog.

The key to a healthy earth isn't that hard to reach. It's as simple as buying solar pannels for your home, or recycled materials for school. There are SO many things you could do to make this better, and I think we should do this the fun way.

Going Green Tips:

1. Simply invite a bunch of friends to a park. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, and carry along a shovel and seeds. Planting baby trees and flowers would really help the environment, and make it look pretty, too.

2. Unplug cell phone chargers of lamp plugs, even if you're not using them.

3. Turn off lights when you leave the room, that's pretty simple.

4. DON'T LITTER. Recycle glass, plastic, and paper.

5. Recycle jeans. They even have PENCILS made out of old jean denim. How cool is that?

6. Even recycle tires. That's pretty cool.

7. Buy the song Sent it On by Disney on iTunes. 100% of the money they earn from that will go towards the million dollars Disney is saving up to help save the world.

If you just say you're going to do these, that doesn't count. You have to actually do what you say, it'll help our Earth so much.

These are just some ideas - there's many more you can try, and I promise, when you finish each one, you AND the Earth will feel better.
